Shali's Tumbling Thoughts

Southwest Airlines has recently updated their website and now has a great new interior interface. I’m not sure when this went up, but I go to this site often to look up random airfares and today was the first I saw this new look and feel. They’ve taken some of the lovely features from Virgin America’s design, also adding some unique improvements/marketing selling points (for example: adding that pop-up “Experience the benefits of Business Select for just $20 more.” when you select any of the Anytime fares).

As I saw this, I thought about Dustin Curtis’s post about American Airlines, and I’m thinking if all these other airlines are making great UI improvements, why can’t they? It’s sort of silly the politics that go on behind a corporate design strategy. Anyway, great job Southwest!

Update: Sweet! Southwest posted full details here.
